Entrance Bursaries

Bursaries are awarded based on need as well as academic performance. Students can apply for the University of Manitoba General Bursary by applying online through their Aurora Student account. Completion of one application will qualify students for most bursaries offered by the Faculty.

For a graduate of Dauphin Regional Comprehensive Secondary School with satisfactory academic standing and has demonstrated financial need.

Harry Finkle North End Awards

For a graduate of St. John’s or Sisler High School with demonstrated financial need and demonstration of leadership abilities, extracurricular and volunteer activities and a commitment to family.

IBEW (Local 2034) Manitoba Hydro Commemorative Bursary

For a full-time student in the first year at the University of Manitoba with demonstrated financial need who is a dependent of an employee of Manitoba Hydro and a member of IBEW – Local 2034.

Mary and Louis Finkle Aboriginal and Immigrant Bursary

For a graduate of St. John’s, Sisler, Children of the Earth or R.B. Russell High Schools who is either Aboriginal, a landed immigrant or a first-generation Canadian with good academic standing and demonstrated financial need.

Post-Secondary Club (PSC) / Rec and Read Entrance Bursary

For an Aboriginal student admitted to the first year of study in any direct entry faculty or school (including University 1 limited admission) at the University of Manitoba who has successfully completed either the Post-Secondary Club (PSC) or the Rec and Read program and has demonstrated financial need.

Morris Golden and Bertha Golden Scholarship

Sonia and Ralph Kaplan Aboriginal and Immigrant Bursary

For a graduate of St. John’s, Sisler, Children of the Earth or R.B. Russell High Schools who is either Aboriginal, a landed immigrant or a first-generation Canadian with good academic standing, demonstrated participation & leadership abilities and financial need

William Lesack Family Memorial Bursary

For a Roblin high school graduate who is enrolled full-time in the first year of any direct entry program, who was admitted with a minimum 70% high school average and has demonstrated financial need or to a continuing undergraduate student with good academic standing and demonstrated financial need.
